Piecitos Colorados is the integral program that the Prosegur group has started in needy areas of the countries of Latin America where it is present. A project that wants to become the engine of progress of all those communities where it is imple-mented, taking school as a driving force for change and development.
Nutrition Without Borders is the entity responsible for carrying out nutritional in-tervention for the Piecitos Colorados Programme from the Prosegur Foundation. The aim of the proposal is to improve the nutritional status of children in the schools that are attached to the programme. The schools are in rural areas with very limited economic resources and often with family breakdown, low schooling and the childhood population in charge of domestic work and peddling.
NWB's work is to develop and publish a didactic guide for teachers in the Piecitos Colorados schools to assist them in the education of students and their families in matters of hygiene, balanced nutrition and food security. This document also aims to inform the teaching team of the necessary methodology that allows them to cor-rectly carry out nutritional surveys and take measures of height and weight (an-thropometric measures) of the students.
